Hemmingson has made numerous contributions, both personally and through Lakeside, to the following non-profit organizations, which support their key commitments of expanding educational opportunities, creating programs to encourage economic self-reliance, and providing financial support for families battling childhood cancer.
Over the past decade, Lakeside and Hemmingson have donated over $2,000,000 dollars to these remarkable organizations.
On an annual basis, Lakeside makes donations to various departments throughout the University. In addition, Hemmingson established an endowment for Gonzaga’s Law Department. With this endowment, a newly formed Civil Liberties Chair position was created, with a mission of improving civil liberties and fighting discrimination.
The Rypien Foundation was established when its founder, Super Bowl XXVI Mark Rypien, lost his three year old son to cancer. Through many fundraising events, including the Zak! Charity Open, the Rypien Foundation provides financial assistance and hope to families with children who suffer from cancer in the Inland Northwest. Lakeside is a proud supporter of this amazing organization.
Lakeside is committed to the youth in the Inland Northwest. Lakeside was fortunate to participate in the capital
campaign to build a new facility for the Boys & Girls Club of Kootenai County and Spokane County. This wonderful facility provides a safe place to keep kids in the area active, and out of high-risk activities.
SNAP is a private, non-profit Community Action Agency, helping low-income and homeless families, children and seniors. SNAP's goal is to help families and individuals
become more self-sufficient and ultimately build new and healthy futures. As a strong community supporter, Lakeside actively donates time and financial resources to this organization.
